Low Water Pressure
Low water pressure normally exists when the water demand in the home is high. Most are supplied with a 1 inch main from the city water supply. City water supplies normally operate at 60# psi.
In Costa Rica you will be doing good if your
supply is 40 - 50 # psi. The normal tap in Costa Rica is only 1/2 inch!
When water pressure in the mains drop, yours
will too. Installation of a backflow prevention device will keep your water
and pressure during these times.
During summer when rainfall drops off, so does
the supply.
With a private well your water supply might also
drop off during the dry summer months. Not to mention Costa Rica has unique
laws regarding wells.
Don't Despair! These are only challenges that can be mechanically overcome with planning.
